Frame generation is available today, with scaling as the next planned capability.\n\nThe project consists of two closely integrated components:\n\n- **MAKO Decky** is the Decky Loader component, providing per-game controls, installation, updates, Flatpak preparation, and game launch integration.\n- **MAKO Renderer** is the Vulkan layer that provides the graphics pipeline for frame generation and future scaling capabilities.\n\nChoose one launch workflow for each installation: MAKO Decky uses `mako-run`, while a directly installed MAKO Renderer uses `mako-launch`. Do not stack the two launchers or combine MAKO with another frame-generation wrapper for the same game.\n\n## 🎮 In-game considerations\n\n\u003C!-- prettier-ignore -->\n> [!TIP]\n> **Try the game's V-Sync setting both on and off.** It can make frame delivery feel steadier, but it may also add input lag or clash with the game's FPS cap, VRR, or compositor. Compare both options and keep the one that feels smoother and more responsive.\n\nEvery game, renderer, and display setup behaves differently. Compare Fixed and Adaptive Frame Generation one setting at a time. For most games, fullscreen is the best starting point for performance and frame pacing. Restart after major display or model changes, and keep the configuration that works best for that game.\n\n## Install and use\n\n1. **Install Decky Loader** if needed. Switch to Desktop Mode and follow the [official Decky Loader installation guide](https:\u002F\u002Fgithub.com\u002FSteamDeckHomebrew\u002Fdecky-loader#-installation), then return to Game Mode.\n2. **Install [Lossless Scaling](https:\u002F\u002Fstore.steampowered.com\u002Fapp\u002F993090\u002FLossless_Scaling\u002F) from Steam.** MAKO needs the licensed installation's `Lossless.dll`.\n3. Then open the plugin and repeat step 5.\n\n### Optional graphics integrations\n\nMAKO Decky provides an experimental per-profile Gamescope WSI compatibility toggle and supports host-installed MangoHud and experimental vkBasalt under **External Tools**. These optional Vulkan layers are mutually exclusive. See [optional graphics integrations](engine\u002Fdocs\u002FLAYER-CHAINING.md) for limits, verification, MangoHud customization, manual activation, and advanced integrations such as OBS Vulkan Capture, RenderDoc, ReShade, and OptiScaler.\n\n### Heroic and other Flatpak applications\n\nThe Steam launch wrapper cannot enter a Flatpak sandbox directly, so configure Heroic through **Flatpak Setup**:\n\n1. Select **Flatpak Setup** in MAKO Decky.\n2. Under **Flatpak Applications**, prepare **Heroic**. If the matching runtime extension is missing, MAKO tells you which runtime to install, commonly **25.08**. Preparing Heroic grants access to the wrapper, configuration, and `Lossless.dll`; it does not enable frame generation for every Heroic game.\n3. In every Heroic game you want to enable, open **Settings > Advanced** and set the first **Wrapper** field to the SteamOS wrapper path:\n\n    ```text\n    \u002Fhome\u002Fdeck\u002F.local\u002Fbin\u002Fmako-run\n    ```\n\n    MAKO also shows the exact **Wrapper path for this device** under **Flatpak Setup**. This replaces Heroic's Flatpak engine with the version bundled in the new ZIP while preserving its preparation and per-game Wrapper commands.\n\n### EmuDeck\n\nFor any EmuDeck emulator installed as a Flatpak:\n\n1. In MAKO Decky, select **Flatpak Setup** and prepare the emulator you use. Install its matching runtime extension when prompted.\n2. Select **Vulkan** as that emulator's graphics backend when it offers one.\n3. In Desktop Mode, open the Steam shortcut for each EmuDeck game you want to configure, then set these fields under **Properties > Shortcut**:\n\n    - **Target**\n\n        ```text\n        \u002Fhome\u002Fdeck\u002F.local\u002Fbin\u002Fmako-run\n        ```\n\n        This is the standard SteamOS path.
